Design a machine that can move or make light using various components (giant mechanics, mechanisms to make them move, electric motors, LED ribbons, etc.). Then experiment with different ways of generating electricity (crank generator, solar panels, etc.). And lastly, try to link energy production to the machines manufactured. You will then see how much energy needs to be produced to turn the motors or light the LEDs.
